Went for a hearing test today. Apparently my hearing is within normal range. Which is weird cos I was sure my right ear was a little rock affected, even before the spate of infections that ruptured my left. So clearly I am not hearing impaired, but listening impaired.
Also had a CT scan [...]

Went to METEC near our house for Advanced Defensive Driver Training on the weekend (aside : It said ADD training on the receipt, which Mon thought I probably didn’t need :P)
There were presentations on fatigue, the importance of tyre pressure and stuff, as well as plenty of practical accident avoidance training, aka locking up the [...]

At the National Marriage Forum in 2004, there were 12000 submissions, sent mostly by fundamental/evangelical Christians, arguing against the rights of same-sex couples to marry and be treated as such under secular law.
Can someone explain why these same passionate defenders of Christian values are utterly silent when their government wants to shirk its responsibilities as [...]

I showed my thoughts on the Scorpion and the Frog to Paul Gahan, one of the teachers at work. There is a wide range of beliefs, some complementary and some conflicting, amongst people who call themselves Christian. I have a great respect for Paul’s understanding of God, and much to learn from him, [...]

I feel most deeply that the whole subject is too profound for the human intellect. A dog might as well speculate on the mind of Newton. Let each man hope and believe what he can.- Darwin, on God’s role in Evolution
People who need government to enforce their religion must not have much faith in the [...]

So Australia will happily sell 20,000 metric tons of uranium per year to China. In return China promises to be a good global citizen and not use our uranium in weapons programmes. OK that’s good, because we know the Communist government in China wouldn’t engage in any kind of falsehood. Mmmhmm, yeah…
You can read [...]
